民國五、六十年代，學生最喜歡的活動之一就是「舞會」，藉此聯誼得以多認識些異性同學，也不知從何時開始，英格伯·漢普汀克所唱的《最後華爾滋》"The Last Waltz”成為舞會默認的最終舞曲。所以每當此曲十分簡短的前奏響起，您就要快步邁向心儀的女孩，如果她也正笑意盎然地迎向您，倆人心領神會，則此曲、此舞、此景，永難忘懷！

英格伯·漢普汀克（Engelbert Humperdinck，1936~），出生於英屬印度馬德拉斯，為英國流行歌手。歌曲「Release Me」、「The Last Waltz」、「After the Loving」、「A Man Without Love」等被人熟知。﹝取材自:維基百科﹞
